holiday lattes, holiday weight gain, and a holiday helper
I’ve been off the stuff (coffee) for almost two months, but over the last few days I’ve had at least five coffee drinks. I had to get energy for a moving party, then I had to compare Peet’s gingerbread lattes to Starbucks gingerbread lattes, then I stayed up late and needed to wake up the next morning… and afternoon. And then I was a coffee-drinker-in-denial again.
At this point, the holidays are keeping me busy at work and at home, and the lack of sleep is soon to become a regular occurence. So should I just be resigned to my fate and keep drinking this elixir of life? Originally, I was determined to not gain any weight over this holiday season, but it’s going to be difficult if I can’t keep the sugary latte cravings at bay.
In related news, I’ve been an adamant opponent of wearing shapewear ever since my mom let me dress myself for fancy parties. Ever since then, I’ve felt that if you were fat, you should just be fat and not try to fake looking thinner for formal events. Stand up straight, suck it in and that’s the end. As skinny as you actually get without shoving lumpy bumpies into some unnatural fabric construction.
But today, I’m ready to change my mind. I have stumbled across the best-yet invention in shapewear, Yummie Tummie. I watched the video, and I’m ready to convert. This Heather Thomson lady is genius! Her Yummie Tummie thing is amazing! It’s cute! It’s not something you have to stuff yourself into and hide under your clothes, but rather a layering piece; a wardrobe staple instead of something from the dreaded “foundations” department (ick)
I actually can’t wait to try it. But alas, I won’t have to save it for a special occasion! I can wear it anytime I want! Because it will be adorable! Victory!
…then after the holidays, I can quit coffee
